Across twenty-five years and four continents, one pattern keeps showing up: leadership challenges are rarely about capability. They're about the conditions in which leaders are trying to think, decide, and act.
Book a Leadership Clarity CallA 30-minute focused conversation. No pitch.
I've worked with leadership teams in environments where clarity isn't optional — where the stakes are high, trust matters, and what isn't being said has real consequences.
The bottleneck is rarely a missing skill, strategy, or framework. It's the conditions under which leaders are trying to make sense of what's in front of them. The conversation that isn't happening. The pattern no one has named.I work at that level.
Most leadership development treats leaders as individuals who need new information — new frameworks, mindsets, tools. In complex environments, that misses the point. Leaders aren't carrying the wrong models. They're enacting the system they've been thrown into.
Strategy is shaped in conversation. Alignment is created through interaction. Results emerge from behaviour. The patterns that constrain a team aren't held in any one head — they're held by the field of the team itself.
So my work focuses on:
"Peter is an extremely genuine guy whom I felt I could fully trust at a gut level from the moment we met. He has an extraordinary ability to fully listen and understand. He rightfully takes the position that you're the expert — what he does brilliantly is help you expand your view, which inevitably leads to new opportunities being identified. I recommend Peter without reservation, especially for people with high standards."— Julien Fruchier, Founder, Beyond Yoga
My practice draws from:
These aren't deployed as separate methods. They're integrated into how I work — used to engage with what's visible, what sits beneath it, and what the system is asking to be acknowledged.
I've worked across global organisations, leadership development partners, and high-pressure environments — often where alignment is fragile, communication is complex, and outcomes matter.
Recent and representative engagements include:
In Eastern Afghanistan, a UN site office on the Pakistan border was at breaking point. Kabul couldn't or wouldn't support them. Staff had been locked out of the refugee camp on the Taliban side of the line. The team was unravelling.
I was choppered in to run an on-the-spot team development intervention — helmets, vests, the lot. Three days of structured conversation in conditions where most leadership work would have nothing to say. By the end, the team had moved from gridlock to a coordinated way forward.
That posting is at the more dramatic end of what I do. But the underlying work — surfacing what isn't being said, restoring the conditions for clear thinking, translating insight into action — is the same in a Sydney boardroom, a five-star resort, or a UN field operation in conflict territory.
It's the work I've spent twenty-five years doing.
Alongside organisational work, I design and facilitate immersive leadership retreats and lead expedition tours through complex landscapes.
I run retreats at Aro-Hā (Aotearoa), Happy Buddha (Blue Mountains), and Thrive Retreats. I lead small group tours for Blue Dot Travel — most recently a 27-day expedition through Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia — and walking tours for AusWalks.
Different formats. Same underlying craft: creating conditions where leaders can re-sensitise to what they've stopped noticing, and act from somewhere clearer.
I live in Coogee, Sydney, and travel internationally for assignments. When I'm not facilitating, I'm hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, or running pro-bono coaching for charities. Most of my work comes through long-term relationships — some clients I've worked with for twenty years. I don't run social media accounts.
"Creating the conditions where leaders can see what's actually in front of them, speak honestly about it, and act with alignment."— The thread through everything I do
A Leadership Clarity Call is a structured 30-minute conversation. We'll look at where you are, what's getting in the way, and whether the work I do is useful to you.
